General secondhand stock but particularly motorcycling and military history.

Good little bookshop with wide selection of reasonably priced books, and very helpful owner.  Steve Newman. 13.08.14
This shop has moved to 10 Michael Street. A small shop with a good selection of books. From memory I would think the new shop is smaller than the previous premises. The owner was as friendly and helpful as last time we visited 10 years ago.  Caroline Mathews 10.07.15
Very friendly owner; sort of place that locals come in for a blether rather than buying books. Having said that, there were some interesting titles and the prices extremely reasonable. One smallish room but worth a look if you're in Peel.  Graeme Rendall 09.08.18

Christian bookshop. Mainly new books, but also a second-hand section.

Churches Bookshop opened in 1971 and moved to its current premises, within St Thomas's Church, four years ago. The shop's main focus is new books, but it is the only place on the island where second-hand Christian books are readily available. The second-hand stock, although quite small, is very varied and includes both scholarly and popular works. The shop is in the town centre, just a few streets back from the promenade, and only a short walk from the Lord Street bus interchange. Enter the church by the side door: the bookshop is immediately on the right. Entry is level and access for people with disabilities is straightforward.  Booker T 28.11.25

Specialist dealer in Isle of Man items since 1972. Stock includes Isle of Man-related second-hand books, as well as Manx paintings, prints, antiquarian maps and ephemera.

The shop is a specialist dealer in Manx items, and so its book stock is exclusively about the Isle of Man, by Manx authors or in the Manx language; mainly non-fiction, but some fiction also. There are about 500 second-hand books for sale at any time. These include hard-to-obtain titles, published long ago and/or in small print runs. The helpful owner, Alan, confirmed that the only other remaining shop-based bookseller on the island selling second-hand books is The Bookshop, also in Peel (and also listed in TBG).   Booker T 15.06.24
